Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Andrew Jones MD, PhD

Dr. Jones is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with over twenty years of

experience in the practice of general orthopedics. He takes an innovative

approach to difficult and challenging orthopedic problems. For example,

he developed and patented a new fixation system for complicated fractures

of the heel.

Areas of Expertise:

· Orthopedic injuries

· Use of orthopedic reconstructive procedures to resolve sports

and arthritic related

conditions

· Diagnosing and treating conditions of the hip, knee, shoulder,

· and common

problems of the hand and foot due to overuse or aging

· Use of surgical techniques to spare the joint instead of joint replacement for the

middle-aged, athletic patient when it is a viable alternative

Education:

· MD from Indiana University

· PhD from University of Pennsylvania

Personal:

Dr. Jones has two children and resides in the Chapel Hill area. He enjoys all outdoor activities, travel, and the performing arts.
